Training seminar "Opening the land market" for representatives of the agricultural sector 

On June 16, 2021, Kyiv hosted a training seminar "Opening the Land Market", organized by the company Formative Partners. The purpose of the seminar was to clarify the main changes in the legislation after the entry into force of the Law of Ukraine №2178-10 and to outline clear mechanisms for action on the purchase of land for farmers.
Before the event, the co-owners of the company solemnly greeted the audience, presented the company and stressed the importance of such events to raise awareness in the practical aspects of the implementation of legislative changes. The speaker of the seminar was Natalia Hniezdilova, a senior lawyer at Formative Partners.
Among other things, perhaps the most important question that was answered during the seminar and further discussion is the question of what to expect after the opening of the land market: for whom will the purchase of land be available and in what amount. The possibility of buying land by foreigners and liability in case of violation of the procedure for buying land were also analyzed.
In addition, the conditions of sale of agricultural land were considered, which includes the preemptive right to purchase, its sale and the order of transfer.
The Formative Partners team also paid close attention to the procedure for acquiring land ownership, in particular the agreements that allow its sale, the procedure for selling land at auction, its value and regulatory assessment.
As Natalia Hniezdilova explained, it is extremely important to confirm financial transactions for the purchase of land, which involves financial monitoring and confirmation of the sources of funds.
In addition, during the seminar, participants also learned more about the conditions and procedure for changing the purpose of land, division and consolidation of land, as well as the right of permanent use of land.
It is especially gratifying that the event has moved from a training seminar to a format of active discussion and debate. This once again emphasizes the urgency of this topic and the urgent need to acquaint persons directly or indirectly related to the agricultural sector with the current state of legal regulation of land purchase.
